These terms apply when you hire a kitchen pod from Temporary Pod Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), 99 College Road, Cranwell, Sleaford, NG34 8DN. Please read them before you book. If anything isn't clear, call us on 07468 416753 or email temporarypodsolutions@gmail.com.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
1. Quotes and bookings
1.1 A quote is our estimate based on the details you give us. It isn't a booking.
1.2 Your booking is confirmed when we confirm it to you in writing (by email, text or WhatsApp). At that point a contract is formed between you and us on these terms.
1.3 Please check your booking confirmation. Tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
2. Hire period
2.1 Hire weeks run from Sunday delivery to Saturday collection. The minimum hire is 1 week.
2.2 You can ask to extend your hire. Extensions depend on the pod being free and cost £260 a week. Please ask as early as you can.
2.3 If the pod can't be collected on the agreed day because of something within your control (for example, blocked access), extra days may be charged at the weekly rate, worked out per day.
3. Prices and payment
3.1 Our prices are in pounds sterling (£) and are shown on our website and in your quote.
3.2 Delivery and collection are free within 30 miles of Sleaford. Further away, the delivery charge will be shown in your quote.
3.3 There are two payments:
- A £200 deposit, paid 30 days before delivery. This is separate from the hire price and does not come off it.
- The full hire price, paid 14 days before delivery.
3.4 If a payment isn't made on time, we'll contact you. If it still isn't paid, we may cancel the booking and release the dates.
4. The deposit
4.1 The £200 deposit covers the gas you use during your hire.
4.2 The pod has a gas meter. We'll take a reading at delivery and at collection, and you'll be charged only for the gas you've used.
4.3 We'll refund the deposit after collection, minus the cost of gas used. If the gas used costs more than £200, we'll send you a bill for the difference.
5. Your site
5.1 You must make sure the following are available within 25 metres of where the pod will go:
- a drain or manhole for waste water
- an outside tap
- two standard 13 amp plug sockets, protected by an RCD
- a private, level space at least 3m wide and 5m deep
- clear access from the road for delivery and collection
5.2 The pod must go on private land. It can't be placed on a public road or pavement.
5.3 You must have permission to place the pod on the land, for example from your landlord, management company or neighbours where land is shared.
5.4 Please give us accurate information and photos of your site. If we arrive and can't safely install the pod because the site doesn't match what you told us, we may charge for the wasted delivery.
6. Delivery, set-up and collection
6.1 We'll deliver the pod, position it, level it and connect it to your water, waste and power.
6.2 An adult must be at the property when we deliver and when we collect.
6.3 We'll agree a delivery time with you. Times are estimates, and we'll keep you updated if we're delayed.
6.4 Pipes and cables are kept as tidy as possible, but sometimes they need to cross a path. Please take care around them.
6.5 Please empty the pod and leave it clean and tidy before collection.
7. Using the pod
7.1 The pod is for normal household cooking, washing up and laundry. Please treat it with reasonable care.
7.2 You must not:
- move, tow or unhitch the pod
- change, disconnect or tamper with the gas, water or electrics
- change or remove the gas bottles
- smoke or vape inside the pod
- use it for business purposes or let it to anyone else
7.3 Pets are welcome. Please clean up after them.
7.4 Children should be supervised in the pod, especially near the oven and hob.
7.5 Please let us have reasonable access to the pod to carry out repairs or safety checks.
8. Gas safety
8.1 We supply and connect the gas bottles. Keep the pod well ventilated when using the oven or hob.
8.2 If you smell gas, turn off the appliances, open the door, don't use any switches or flames, leave the pod and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Then call us.
9. Faults and repairs
9.1 Tell us as soon as possible if anything stops working.
9.2 We'll fix faults that aren't caused by misuse as soon as we reasonably can, at no cost to you.
9.3 If the pod can't be used for a full day or more because of a fault that isn't your fault, we'll refund that time.
10. Damage and loss
10.1 The pod is in your care during the hire. You are responsible for damage or loss during that time, other than normal wear and tear.
10.2 We'll check the pod with you at delivery and collection. If there is damage, missing items or more than normal cleaning needed, we'll show you photos and charge the reasonable cost of putting it right.
10.3 You may want to check whether your home insurance covers items you hire.
11. Cancelling your booking
11.1 Cooling-off period. If you book without visiting us in person, you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of your booking being confirmed and get a full refund. If you ask us to deliver within those 14 days, and then cancel after the pod has been delivered, we may charge for the time you've had it.
11.2 More than 14 days before delivery: you can cancel and anything you've paid will be refunded in full.
11.3 14 days or less before delivery: the hire price can't be refunded, because we'll have turned other customers away for those dates. The £200 deposit will be refunded in full. If we manage to re-hire the pod for the same dates, we'll refund the hire price for the weeks we re-hire.
11.4 To cancel, please call, text, WhatsApp or email us.
12. If we have to cancel
12.1 If we have to cancel your booking, we'll tell you as soon as possible and refund everything you've paid.
12.2 We're not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures or accidents. If this happens, we'll offer you new dates or a full refund.
13. Our responsibility to you
13.1 We'll provide the pod with reasonable care and skill, and in good, clean working order.
13.2 We'll take reasonable care when delivering, positioning and collecting the pod. If we damage your property through our negligence, we'll put it right.
13.3 We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses.
13.4 Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
14. Your personal information
We only use your details to deal with your enquiry and your hire. See our privacy policy for more information.
15. Complaints
If you're not happy, please tell us straight away by phone, WhatsApp or email, and we'll do our best to put things right.
16. Using our website
16.1 Please use our website lawfully. Don't misuse it or try to disrupt it.
16.2 The text, photos and logos on this website belong to Temporary Pod Solutions. Please don't copy them without our permission.
16.3 We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your hire are the ones in place when your booking is confirmed.
